Did you know not all contractors offer warranty services?

Not all HVAC service companies are created equal, and neither are their warranties. Some contractors may just offer equipment warranties on their systems; warranties already provided by the manufacturer. Labor warranties are different. A heating and air conditioning company can choose whether or not they want to cover issues that may arise due to faults in installation. Warranties such as these are extremely important because installation is directly related to the functionality of the system. My Air Today offers a full warranty on our labor and installation. What about equipment warranties?

Manufacturers offer warranties on their products that serve to cover any malfunctions or failures due to faulty parts, but don’t cover issues due to poor installation practices. Through these warranties the manufacturer will replace any parts free of charge. Equipment warranties are generally the same across the board. Whether you choose Lennox, Rheem, Trane, or any other brand, most manufacturers offer a 5 year warranty on their products. Some manufacturers will even offer a warranty extension up to 10 years if the product is registered. 

It is important to always read the fine print provided by the manufacturer even if they state a “10 year warranty.” Oftentimes the print states you must register on your own time to qualify for the extended warranty.
